At Tulum’s new Casa Chablé villa, nature is the star – Robb Report

Tulum is about to have a new luxury retreat.

Just 22 miles from the popular biosphere destination of Sian Ka’an, Casa Chablé offers a luxury experience that allows you to fully immerse yourself in the natural wonder of the Caribbean coast of Quintana Roo. The property sits on 12 acres of tropical jungle fringed with white sand beaches.

The interior is inspired by its surroundings. The charming villa has teamed up with award-winning interior designer Paulina Moran to reinvent the property and emphasize its closeness to nature. This can be seen in the use of sustainable Parota tropical wood furniture and the presence of indigenous designs, both developed in collaboration with local artisans.

Guests arrive at the property via a 40-minute private boat transfer that takes you through the mangrove forests before entering the islet. The hotel’s crown jewel, the Casa Principal, features three beachfront bungalows and two more with direct beach access. All rooms have private balconies as well as outdoor showers, so you can enjoy the natural scenery while you bathe.

When it’s time for dinner, you can walk to the on-site restaurant designed by celebrity chef Jorge Vallejo, owner of Quintonil de Mexico, which is often ranked among the best restaurants in the world. The menu is designed to feature local and regional dishes from Mexican cuisine — a confirmed entree will be grilled octopus with guacamole — using ingredients from the property’s organic garden and fresh seafood stash. At raw bar you have options like shrimp and shrimp cocktail.

The Biosphere is one of Mexico’s largest protected areas, with untouched green forest and lagoons along the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. There is also abundant wildlife. Guests can use kayaks and small boats to get up close to the animals in the area, which range from colorful fish to turtles and even dolphins.

On the property, other amenities include an oceanfront wellness cabana, a private beach with canopy daybeds, a rooftop lounge, and, of course, hammocks for soaking up the sun. And if you missed the summer season, don’t worry, you’ll still have the chance to discover Casa Chablé. The property is scheduled to open in November and will be open year round.

Bungalow rates start at $789 per night.
