Demolition permits have been filed for two one-story commercial buildings at 53-55 Avenue D in Manhattan’s East Village. The 5,054 square foot land is owned by Manny Ashourzadeh under Rash LLC.
Located at the southwest corner of the intersection of Avenue D and 5th Street East, the site has 64 feet of street frontage. YIMBY previously reported on a proposed 13-story, 62,200 square foot mixed-use apartment building with affordable housing at the alternate address of 746 East 5th Street. Designed by Gerald Caliendo Architects, the upcoming 125-foot-tall development will produce 62,200 square feet for 85 residences, with 15 units allocated to inclusive housing.
53-55 Avenue D is near the Delancey Street-Essex Street subway station, served by the F, J, M, and Z trains.
AA BLDG & INSP SVC LLC is listed as the registered applicant.
