Despite his huge wage demands, Chukwuemeka finds himself in a strong position at the negotiating table, with the Englishman potentially leaving Villa for a development fee of around £300,000.

Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Newcastle and Liverpool have all been linked with the youngster as Villa may now consider selling the Englishman at a discount to avoid losing him for just a development fee next summer.

£100,000 a week seems like a lot for a youngster with just two first-team starts and 16 first-team appearances, but with the majority of Europe’s elite clubs linked with the midfielder it can be a risk that will pay off for Liverpool .
