There are plenty of luxury properties in New York City, but many lack amenities and square footage. A condo on the 80th floor of a residential tower is fine, but chances are you wouldn’t have as much room as you would get for the same price in another big city. So those looking to improve their Manhattan digs are in luck, as a spacious townhouse on the Upper East Side has just been listed for $ 63 million, with a spa and fitness center in the sub. -ground.
The 13,000 square foot house represents a major collaboration between two sought-after names in the world of architecture and interior design: Thierry Despont and Pierre-Yves Rochon. Rochon did all of the finishing touches, including work on the spectacular staircase that winds the townhouse’s many floors. Despont, naturally, arranged the furnishings, which are included with the purchase, and added a few other finishing touches to the place. Obviously, when the sellers bought the house, they brought in the duo for a complete gut renovation, so everything is relatively new. “The only thing they left untouched was the facade,” listing agent Carrie Chiang said. Robb Report.
As the house has six floors, it is equipped with an elevator that you can go down to the basement for a good workout. There’s a massage room, steam room, and gym on this level, as well as a 20-foot resistance pool with LED “stars” embedded in the ceiling above. “It’s very reminiscent of a Rolls-Royce,” says Andres Perea-Garzon, who shares the list with Chiang.
The house is also grand as soon as you step into the third floor living room, as the space has a double height ceiling with massive double height windows that really let in the light. A mezzanine overlooks the space, which you can equip with a piano to enjoy music at your next dinner party.
The house has a total of seven bedrooms on the second, fourth and fifth levels. The master suite has a full floor on the top floor, with a private terrace that has access to the roof. Here you will have a spectacular view of Central Park and the Upper East Side. Residents who are not staying in the master bedroom can also access the space via the elevator. Guests sleeping on the second floor will have their own advantage, as the media room is located there.
In other words, there’s something here for architecture buffs, fitness gurus, or people who just want to leave a cramped condo and upgrade to something a little more spacious. “We have buyers who will look at one of these supertalls and then go and see this house. It’s day and night, ”explains Perea-Garzon. “It’s a whole lifestyle; it is a condo for the whole family.
