Travelers should self-quarantine at approved hotels / villas

The Department of Health and Welfare is reminding people traveling to Barbados to wait for their COVID-19 PCR test results at a government-approved quarantine hotel / villa. Travelers are not allowed to self-quarantine at home.

The list of properties approved for quarantine is available at As stated in the Barbados Travel Protocols, this accommodation is the responsibility of the traveler.

Fully vaccinated travelers should book for at least two nights, as test results take 24 to 48 hours to be returned. Unvaccinated travelers are advised to book a minimum of seven nights as they are supposed to test after a period of five days, and results take 24-48 hours to be returned.

Home quarantine may be granted by the chief medical officer for people belonging to specific categories. These include:

  • People with health problems requiring special attention;
  • People with disabilities or accompanying persons with disabilities and diplomats.
